Russian chess coach Amina Abakarova has been accused of poisoning her rival, Umayganat Osmanova, by smearing mercury on her chess board.

The incident was caught on CCTV footage and Abakarova has been arrested. This brings a whole new meaning to poisoned pawns in chess.
