📰 Chess News

American chess player GM Hans Niemann, infamous for his involvement in cheating scandals, has surprisingly ascended to world rank #16 on the live FIDE rating list. This achievement comes in the wake of his checkered past, which includes a ban from Chess. com for online cheating.

Niemann's recent victories in his "Hans Niemann Against The World" series of matches has propelled his live FIDE rating to 2733, a figure that now surpasses those of several world-class grandmasters, including:

  • Anish Giri

  • Maxime Vachier-Lagrave

  • Levon Aronian

This meteoric rise continues to divide the chess community, with some viewing it as a remarkable comeback while others remain skeptical due to his controversial history. Niemann's ascent in the rankings, despite his tarnished reputation, underscores the ongoing debate about integrity and second chances in professional chess.

🎉 Until Next Week

That’s all for today. Stay dynamic and come join us next weekend for a fun online camp!
