🚲 Carlsen Dashes To Victory

Magnus Carlsen nearly forfeited his game in Round 3 of the Chess Olympiad after cycling to the venue in pouring rain. Arriving just 4 minutes before the default time, Carlsen thought he was too late.

However, a 15-minute weather delay and some help sneaking in without his badge saved the day. Carlsen went on to win his game, leading Norway to a 3.5-0.5 victory over Colombia. Here’s Carlsen’s win with the black pieces:

🏆 India Leads Olympiad Without Anand

India's chess prodigies are making waves at the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad, leading the pack after five rounds - and doing it without the legendary Vishy Anand. The young guns are showing why India is a rising chess superpower:

  • GM Arjun Erigaisi (20) is the only player with a perfect 5/5 score

  • GM Gukesh Dommaraju (18) continues his stellar form from 2022

  • GM Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu (19) remains solid and undefeated

  • GM Vidit Gujrathi adds experience to the youthful squad

With strong performances and a "nice mood in the team," as Gukesh puts it, India looks unstoppable. Can these prodigies bring home the gold without their iconic mentor?
