🏆 GM Ian Nepomniachtchi Wins 10th Gashimov Memorial

Each year, the chess world gathers in Shamkir to commemorate the life and talent of Vugar Gashimov, the Azerbaijani grandmaster who passed away at the young age of 27.

Known for his creative play and fighting spirit, Gashimov's legacy is celebrated through this tournament, launched in 2014. The event preserves Gashimov's memory, highlights Azerbaijan's chess tradition, and demonstrates the lasting impact of this promising grandmaster taken too soon.
